The Mighty Nimbus Unknown Mister Yuk
February 8, 2005
Entombed pose for a pre-meal shot before the show. "Take Two" after "hand in front of face" removal.
Mister Yuk opened the show with a Thrash Attack reminiscent of Overkill's slashing style.
Hardcore action soon followed courtesy of Unknown.
Their name makes them rather hard to look up on the web :-).
The Mighty Nimbus soon followed with some Thundering Doom Riffs.
The Mighty Nimbus, Minnesota natives, were enjoying our summer weather.
Pro-Pain amazed everyone with their incredible groove laden attack. They did their best to steal the show from the still to come headliners. Quite a performance.
Pro-Pain put the mosh pit action into high gear. We have to have these guys back again.
After Pro-Pain the shots were flowing! This is round two for these guys and I think those shots were doubles. I don't think their brain cells or credit cards could stand round three. Wisely, they switched to water.
Crowbar treated the crowd to some old fashioned New Orleans sludge metal. Evil eye to photographer notwithstanding.
OMG - Crowbar were loud! After snapping these pics, I beat a hasty retreat to the relative sonic safety of the back bar.
Anticipation was high when Entombed took the stage and they did not disappoint. "Chief Rebel Angel" kicked off the extensive set list.
One fan signals his approval.
Death 'n Roll doesn't get any better than this! These guys originated this unique sound and still are the masters.
Entombed did some new stuff like "The Fix is In" and their encore included the classic "Left Hand Path". A great performance by metal legends.
Rebecca and Danny Polliard came from Centreville to see Pro-Pain. They were not disappointed. Danny is a big Steelers fan, he was disappointed. They'll both be back for the upcoming Soulfly show. And of course the Steelers will definitely be back next year. Watch out Pats!
Metal Veterans Luis & Ignacio were on hand for another classic show at Jaxx. They have been coming to Jaxx for over five years and never miss a big show.
Another great night of mixed metal styles. Many thanks to Mike for the great sound for all the bands with some help from his friends. Jaxx has loads of great shows in the coming months. Hope to see YOU at the next one!
