Vollmer     U M 4 IT

February 26, 2005

Metal Factor, out of Crofton, MD, got the crowd warmed up with a bevy of metal cover songs - all well executed - including tracks from Iron Maiden, Metallica, Megadeth and Ozzy.  Lead guitarist Randy Cuffe (Yellow/Black Megadeth jersey) had a great night with some precision lead work.

U M 4 It, from Winchester, VA, was up next and kept the crowd energy rising  with a mix of original works and covers.  Frontman Jimmy "Lil' Killer" Dougherty's high energy delivery kept the crowd entertained.  Jimmy does double duty in another fabulous Winchester band - Turbulance.

The Vollmer gang strike a pose before the show.  Picture includes (from L to R) Kim, Jade, Russ, Michelle, Allen and Steve.

Vollmer, from Fairfax, VA,  hit the stage and the volume level increased noticeably.  They played a mix of originals and covers including tracks from Thin Lizzy, Led Zeppelin and AC/DC.  They have been playing together for 20 years and it was evident in the crisp delivery and smooth stage presence.  Set closer, AC/DC's "Whole Lotta Rosie",  was one of the evenings highlights.

Deanna & Tom drove 380 miles from Cleveland, Ohio to see Jackyl - their favorite band.  They had a great time!

The volume level for Georgia's Bad Boy Boogie Rockers Jackyl was intense!  Sound vibrations may even have affected some of the picture quality - but here's all of them anyway.

To say Jesse James Dupree has a fantastic stage presence would be a huge understatement to say the least.  He has a great time and is one of the most entertaining front men in rock.

In between JJD taking swigs of Pabst Blue Ribbon and telling jokes, Jackyl was laying down some truly hammering riffs.  The energy of this band was amazing and the crowd was now fully into it.  They played all their classic hits including "Down On Me", "Dirty Little Mind", "When Will it Rain", "I Stand Alone" and of course the touching romantic ballad, "She Loves My Cock".

Eventually the Chainsaw materialized much to the crowds delight and Jackyl finished with a gasoline filled version of "The Lumberjack".  Wood chips were flying and furniture was destroyed - great fun!

Ultra Rock Babes Joy & Janet share a Kodak moment after the show.

Janet shares an inside joke with Jesse James Dupree after the show.  Jackyl, though they play the redneck rockers act to the extreme, are truly a class act and took the time to meet, greet and sign autographs for all the fans after the performance

Jackyl mug for a group shot with Janet.

Great show!  Absolutely, positively do not miss these guys next time they are in town.  They are really worth the price of admission.  Those of you who wish to hear high frequencies in your old age are urged to bring ear protection.
