April 22, 2005
One of the most anticipated shows of the year and another Jaxx sellout in the month of April. A record for the club and a growing trend. We only have a capacity of 500 and with metal's growing popularity, we are having more and more sellouts.............. so if you see a show you would like to attend, buy your ticket early. Many, many people were disappointed and not able to get a ticket for this show and we are very sorry about it, but part of what makes a small club unique is the intimacy you get that is not possible at larger venues. Those that attended this show went home happy. Very, very memorable.
Behemoth are poised and ready to strike as Intro music plays.
These guys play as fearsome as they look. Openers don't get any better than this.
Egyptian based death metal was the order of the day. Nile would soon follow along a similar theme.
Intense rapid fire riffing and staccato death metal blast beat drumming were prominent on Behemoth's set including several cuts from their latest release, "Demigod".
Frontman Nergal spews the death vox with the best of them. A very intense crowd pleasing performance. Fellow countrymen Vader and Decapitated are due at Jaxx soon and along with Behemoth, form the holy trinity of Polish Death Metal.

Both the King Diamond & Nile/Behemoth displays did a steady business. The Black Dahlia Murder set up in the lounge due to space constraints.
Detroit's The Black Dahlia Murder were up next with a dose of hardcore tinged melodic death metal. The guys never stopped moving and really worked up a sweat!
Frontman Trevor Strnad.
TBDM's new album, "Miasma" is due out shortly on Metal Blade Records.
Nile main man and founder Karl Sanders gives the metal salute just before things got loud
Egyptian lyrical themes abound in Nile's brutal assault. This was their best performance ever at Jaxx.
Dallas Toler-Wade has now taken over vocal duties and things have much improved in that department since. Still gutturally brutal, but now much more coherent and decipherable. Nile are a force to be reckoned with.
Nile played a lengthy set including material from "In Their Darkened Shrines" and "Black Seeds of Vengeance", as well as their forthcoming release, "Annihilation of the Wicked"
Their performance of the title track from "Annihilation of the Wicked" may possibly have been the greatest brutal death metal song I've ever witnessed! Staggeringly Superb!

King Diamond takes the stage to an appreciative packed house.
The King always has an elaborate stage production and theatrics abound.
The "Deadly Lullabyes" Tour is in support of King Diamonds latest live release by the same name.
King was very appreciative of the support he receives when at Jaxx and a KD show is mandatory for any local metal fan. He did two encores and nobody left! Jaxx is hoping to have him back again soon.
A King Diamond show involves lots and lots of gear and numerous stage props.
Ivan, Enrique and Alfredo from Gaithersburg at another Jaxx metal show. These guys come to so many shows, we may have to give them frequent flier miles.
