Tips for Fans Coming to Jaxx

Jaxx does not allow crowd surfing!!!!!!!

Crowd Surfing

Here are a few things that you should know when coming to Jaxx Nightclub:

Alcohol

If you are over 21 you MUST have a valid ID with you (State Driver's License or ID Card, Military ID or Passport). This is an ABC law. If it is an over 21 show and you have no ID you will not be allowed in, if it is an 18 and over or all ages show and you have no ID you will not be allowed in the drinking areas of the club. There are NO exceptions to this. If you purchase alcohol for a minor, ejection and possible arrest will result for both.

Kids, if you would like to see a 21 and over show, you must have a parent with you.  All Ages Shows are 14 and up - under 14 must be accompanied by an adult.

Once you have entered the club you cannot leave until you are leaving for the night, there are many reasons for this, among them: We cannot have a constant in/out of people, it allows people to sneak past the doorperson, and police have caught people from the club in their cars drinking and doing other illegal things.

SO

If you plan on dining before the show we serve fantastic food at decent prices. If you are eating elsewhere, please do so before coming to the club rather than coming in and then expecting to leave to eat and coming back.

You are not allowed to bring any food or drink into the club or to leave with any drinks including water, it is against ABC law to leave a bar with a beverage.

The club is open until 2:00am most nights, by ABC law all alcohol MUST be gone by 2:00am, so if a show runs late, we must collect the alcohol by that time. We hope that you understand this.

We frequently have 18 and over and all age shows, to separate the alcohol from the minors the club is divided in one of two ways:

With the dance floor divided: there are two tennis nets dividing the dance floor, looking at the stage there is no alcohol allowed to the right side of the club and no one under 21 allowed to the left, back at the main bar or in the lounge area.

With the dance floor open: there is no alcohol allowed on the dance floor or to the right side of the club (looking at the stage), no one under 21 is allowed to the left, back at the main bar or in the lounge area

Tickets

You can get tickets for most shows in advance, you can:

When you come to the club the day of the show your tickets will be waiting for you at the door (unless you had TicketMaster mail them to you). Just tell the doorperson that you ordered them through TicketMaster or over the phone from the club. The doorperson will need to know which way you ordered as the tickets will be in two different stacks.

Cameras Etc.

Whether or not cameras of any type are allowed is up to the artist performing. In general there is usually no audio recording or video recording allowed at all.  Most artists will allow small digitals or disposable cameras.  Flash photography is usually frowned upon, however, all of this can differ from show to show.  Professional SLR cameras are usually prohibited.  Ask a member of the staff and they will find out for you. There are usually no such restrictions on local shows.

Behavior

Use common sense and good judgment at all times.  Laser pointers are not allowed.  Do not throw ANY objects at anyone or anything!  Violence will not be tolerated.  You will be asked to leave!  Normal "moshing" between willing participants is OK, but respect the space of others on the floor who do not wish to mosh.  Intoxication is not an excuse to act irresponsibly.  Do not drink and drive.  Designated drivers are recommended.  Enjoy the show, have fun and be safe.

Miscellaneous

Smoking is permitted throughout the club.  (with the exception of cigars - cigars are not allowed)

Seating is very limited.  There are booths and tables and stools at the bar in the lounge area.  In the concert hall there are stools at the bars, stools around the railing surrounding the dance floor and a very few tables. The majority of the crowd will be standing, so if you want to be able to sit, please come early to try and stake out a seat.

If you have any questions about anything not covered here, please feel free to ask any staff member or email us and we'll be glad to help you. We want your time at the club to be as safe and enjoyable as possible.
