Special Event, New format??

What the heck does this mean anyway??

Curious in general but also specifically for the Mar 13 WASP show. WASP is the early show, then the late show is "special event, new format" If I'm gonna drive 2 hrs I kinda want to know what the evening holds ya know. Will I get kicked out after WASP? Is the Special Event something thats open to the public? Is it something I might want to stay for? etc

It's a bit irritating seeing it repeated down the whole page. I'd rather see a blank space if nothings planned or an "announcement soon" if somethings in the works. This way just seems like a HaHa we're doing something kind of jab ya know. Sorry just my feeling on it.

I know, it's what Jay told me to put so people know there is something on those dates. I'm going to see if he'll let me put any details up about them Basically they're Hispanic Dance nights with a DJ. I think they start at 10 or so and I have no idea what the cover is. Jay has said he is writing a "Jay Page" explaining it but he has yet to give it to me.

I have heard a rumour that Jaxx is turning into a dance club with the occasional band playing once in a while. Again its just something that I heard but I still don't like that. The Thunderdome in Baltimore went the same way and they ended up getting rid of rock bands all together.

That's pretty much the way I understand it. I'm sure Jay will chime in about it, but from my discussion with him, I don't blame him.

Well, while it is different the club looks the nicest that I can remember in nearly 30 years. And if it makes Jay money and keeps the doors open and staff paid and they still do 8 - 10 rock shows a month then it's all good.

I guess if I lived there I'd probably feel different but for me it's a special trip anyway so as long as they're still bring in the national acts I can just ignore the other nights. Feel bad for you locals though, seems like its going the way my town did and now we don't have any bars for good music. Hope Jay won't let it come to that but as much as I like Jaxx it's a buisness for him and he's gotta do what hes gotta do.
