First define good shit, then point out good shit that will bring in lots of people (lots, not just 30-40) and that will bring in people that drink. And these days make sure it's on a date that it won't snow 2 feet LOL.

We bring an assortment of music to Jaxx. The bands you mention have played Jaxx before, and probably will again sometime in the future. Just check the calendar for upcoming shows, and follow us on Twitter for up to the minute updates.

I've been coming to Jaxx since it was The Copa so you could say a long long time.  I've had some great times up there including asking my Fiancee' to marry me on stage there at a Dokken show about 4 years ago.  That said I feel like I know the place pretty well and why some things go as they do.  Most everyone at this point knows the economy has effected many many different businesses but, I think many forget that band's are also a business and make no mistake about it the economy has hit the music business hard and so have the times.  People don't even buy music that much anymore,  the internet and downloads etc... have made it twice as tough for bands as it was 20-25 years ago.  In my opinion Jaxx has a huge balancing act to deal with when it comes time to book a band.  Meaning they can't very well book Motley Crue or Metallica and have 50,000 fans show up to a 500-1000 head venue.  On the flip side of the coin they can't book a band that doesn't draw enough to fill the venue (even if you love that band) and have 30-40 people standing around.  I'd amagine it's a tough tough thing to have to deal with as a club owner.  In my opinion right now today the entire music scene is bleek at best.  It's also my "personal" opinion that I liked the old jet black and mostly all metal club,  but I gotta give a boat load of credit to the club for being so devoted to the music,  bands and people that they are doing bold extreme moves to do everything they can to keep the club's doors open.  Times change and not always for the better and let me leave you with this to consider............If people think Jaxx doesn't care or doesn't try to keep rock alive and if you think Jaxx doesn't try as hard or harder than anyone let me ask you this........Where is Hammerjacks?  Where is The Floodzone?  Where is even the small Tiki Fala? Now let me ask you this...............Where is Jaxx??  Exactly!  .........

You wouldn't have known anything was wrong with the music industry last night at the Kix show.  I had to park in the "satellite lot" (Giant) and the place was packed!  Kix still looks, sounds and has the same energy they did from many years ago!

Indeed. Well said. As an aside, it's nice to see a few of the Copa "Old Guard" still coming. Wink

I've seen The Roadducks all over the place, but never at Crystals.  Would that be the same place that later became The Silver Fox?

Yes and yes.  Coincidentally, I'm actually waiting for one of the old members of Monarch to come over right now!  Maybe we should start a separate who-remembers-what rock club thread?  Cool
