Good lord, I went to a show at another music venue/club downtown last night and was paying $8.00-10.00 per beer (including a $1 tip).  Man that place is expensive.  The taxi ride there and bumming a ride back to my office wasn't exactly convenient or cheap either.

It's nice to be able to drive myself to Jaxx and park free and have reasonable beer prices.

It also helps that Jaxx isn't in the middle of a ghetto either. I can't bitch about drink prices since all I get is bottled water but I see what others are paying and is ridiculous what people pay at the DC clubs compared to Jaxx. Also Jaxx has real Red Bull and not some knock-off stuff on tap (ahem 930 Club).

I like Jaxx, love it in fact, thats why when things are bad/different/changing... I hate it. Hell I drive 2hrs, must like it a bit. Drink prices are so so but have to point out if a long island ice tea is gonna cost $10 it should be a real one with 5 liquors not 3. I know thats rare to find in Va though.

Tues show got highly expensive for me since I only made it to fairfax going home and blew up my car! Spent the night on the side of 7100, was given sobriety tests by cops who found me there and finally made it home at 6pm thurs, just in time to go to work with no sleep.

Was it worth it, sure, its rock & roll!

Jaxx' bartenders make the best Long Island I've ever had, and I have had a LOT. They always give me the right amount of everything, so I ask them to skip the sweet & sour and use diet instead of regular coke, and it STILL tastes good. And their prices aren't insane, either.

Yeah, matter of preference I guess. I had a couple last year in LI and they beat anything I'd ever had in Virginia, I guess its having the 5 in it? Before that I was happy with what I got in my home state so it wasn't a slam on Jaxx, just comparing to LI. I wonder if Va has a law or something about how many liquors can be in a drink? Because I dont think I've ever found a bar here that does a 5L. Can't say what I paid in LI either because once people there find out your from Va they all want to buy you one. I'll be in long island tomorrow and get a 5L one to compare, reasearch of course Smiley I'll even notice the price this time.
